Who am I? My name is Greg Norman and I bought my first investment property back in 1994. I bought that house to live in and decided to rent it out in 1995 when I got married. I had always loved real estate, and wanted to learn more about how to invest, but I didn't really know where to start. I found a friend, who gave me lots of good advice and encouraged me, but I didn't think I could really make a go of it until 1997 when I did a few "lease purchase wholesales" and "controlled" a couple of properties. That was the same year I started my first LLC to purchase homes. I thought I was serious then!! I slowly started buying more and more,and eventually, I was able to do my first "grand slam" deal. Ahhh I remember it like it was yesterday. I must have stared at that check for 3 days before I cashed it. Here's a copy of the check.
WOW! That's what I thought as I stared at that check. At the time, it would take me about 3 years of working at my job to get that kind of money....3 years!! It didn't take long to do what I hope everyone gets to do someday Tell their boss "I quit". It's a scary and liberating feeling! Since then, I've been buying 1-3 homes a month and have bought over $50,000,000.00 in real estate.
